Top pool players in North and South Powys will have the chance to prove who’s best thanks to sponsorship from an international company that specialises in supplying pay-to-play entertainment equipment to pubs and members clubs.
Coinspinner has agreed to put up a cup and trophies for an annual representative challenge between the best players from the north and south of the county.
The challenge will be based on home and away matches – one in the summer and the other in the winter - although the finer details are yet to be thrashed out.

“This challenge will take the super league to a new level and there’s going to be a lot of rivalry,” said Newtown Pool League secretary Owen Durbridge, who is organising the matches.
“We already play against some of the best players in South Powys in Newtown Pool League because they turn out for Llanbadarn Fynydd. The Coinspinner Challenge Cup will be the ideal opportunity to establish which part of the county is best at pool.
“We have huge experience of playing super league matches in North Powys and have also played against teams in Radnorshire. This challenge takes it a step further.”
With offices across the UK and Europe, including a Mid Wales hub in Talgarth, Coinspinner specialises in supplying gaming and skill with prizes machines, jukeboxes, table play and video games, boxing machines to the pubs and members clubs.
Lee Hammond, Coinspinner’s operations manager, said: “The idea of a challenge cup to be contested by teams representing North and South Powys developed from a meeting we held with Owen Durbridge.
“We are delighted to sponsor this challenge as we are increasing our customer base across the county. An important part of the company’s ethos is reinvesting in the communities that we serve to support sporting clubs and the leisure industry.”
