Craft demonstrations We’ve made a garden with birds, bees and butterflies in mind. The daffodils, tulips and other bulbs give the bees a head start in spring and make a striking display we can enjoy from our house. Children will love our ponds which are dragonfly, frog, toad and newt nurseries bordered by yellow, white and blue irises in June and full of pink, white and yellow water lilies. The 15th April opening will have an Easter egg trail especially for children, and May 20th will be devoted to Planting for Bees.

Montgomery Canal Triathlon Endurance Challenge, Montgomery Canal
The Montgomery Canal Triathlon Endurance Challenge will be on the theme of Bikes, Boats and Boots .and will use the 35 miles of towpath in one day.Cycling from Newtown to Welshpool- 13 miles. then canoeing the 11 miles from Welshpool to Llanymynech( 8 locks and 3 road crossings), then walking from Llanymynech to Frankton- 11miles.Complete one section or attempt all three!. Lots of fun.The event is being organised by the Friends of the Montgomery Canal.

2 very different hidden gardens offering seclusion, plantsmanship and lovely surprises at every turn! Oak Cottage is a plantsman’s small garden providing an oasis of green in the town centre. Gravel paths and stepping stones meander through a wide variety of plants, including unusual species. Alpines are a favourite (more enthusiasm than knowledge). 1 Church Bank is a jewel in the town. Gothic arch over a zig zag path leads to exotic arbours in the intimate rear garden of an old town house. L'Avventura London - An Italian Rant, Montgomery
Venue - Town Hall, MontgomeryL'Avventura London presents its highly-acclaimed programme An Italian Rant!: Eighteenth-Century Italian Masters in Britain with the special addition of Italian compositions with Welsh connections. The repertoire focuses on the Italian diaspora of music and musicians in eighteenth-century Britain and the vogue for masked balls during the same period and will be performed in the ideal setting and acoustic of the handsome Upper Room of the Town Hall in the beautiful Georgian town of Montgomery.A great influx of musicians into Britain from Italy began soon after the Restoration and Italian sonatas and concertos became regular concert fare throughout the country thereafter. L'Avventura London performs fresh interpretations of favourite pieces by Vivaldi and Corelli plus an original arrangement of Italian Rant, an enduring Italian tune that reappeared in musical compositions internationally from the seventeenth century onward. Some outstanding lesser-known works by Brasanti and Cervetto will also be included together with modern world premieres of forgotten Baroque gems.
